Audivi acapella ensemble to perform at The Block Saturday Oct. 15

The Block in downtown Muskegon will present Audivi, a Detroit-based professional acapella ensemble, Sat. Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Audivi focuses on presenting rarely heard Renaissance masterpieces and premiering new works by modern composers, as well as choral music from all eras. Audivi harkens back to a time when unaccompanied singing was considered the highest form of music in the world.

Led by artistic director Noah Horn, Audivi has performed at many events in the Detroit and Ann Arbor areas, including the Friday Night Live series at the Detroit Institute of Arts. In June 2015, Audivi visited the east coast as the headlining professional vocal ensemble for the New England Regional American Guild of Organists convention. Its members have also appeared on the television program, America’s Got Talent.

Tickets to the Audivi concert can be obtained by calling the ticket office for the West Michigan Symphony at 231.726.3231 or by going to The Block’s website. Tickets are $20 to $30, and $10 student tickets can be purchased with student ID.

The Block is located at 360 W. Western Ave. 2nd floor, in Muskegon. Doors and bar open at 6:45 and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. For more information go to theblockwestmichigan.org.
