Pianist Aviram Reichert presents a free recital at The Block July 12.

Muskegon, Michigan, July 5 – Pianist Aviram Reichert will present a free classical piano recital at The Block, West Michigan Symphony’s alternative performance venue, Tuesday, July 12.

Acclaimed for his deeply intelligent interpretations and phenomenal technique, Aviram Reichert won the Bronze Medal at the 10th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1997, after having won several major competitions in the Far East, France and Germany. Today, Reichert is a frequent soloist with the leading orchestras in his native country, Israel, including the Israel Philharmonic, Haifa Symphony, Israel Chamber Orchestra and the Jerusalem Symphony.

The Chicago Tribune praised Reichert, saying he “…played with the nuances, strength and the unhurried sound of someone who knows how to say just what he means…it also showed that he is considerably more than a contest winner.”

Reichert last performed with the West Michigan Symphony in its February 2007 “Winter Dreams” concert and was featured on Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 “Emperor Concerto.”

The July piano program will include Schubert’s Four Impromptus, Op. 90 and Sonata in A minor D 784. Plus Prélude, Choral and Fugue by composer C. Franck.

The concert is Tuesday evening July 12 and begins at 7 p.m. This concert is a gift to the community courtesy of Aviram Reichert and The Block. Seating is general admission.
