West Michigan Symphony Presents a brown bag lunch and conversation about Beethoven and Blue Jeans. Bring your own lunch and enjoy an hour of lively discussion with Music Director Scott Speck and our guest artist, pianist Conrad Tao.

Those who have tickets to attend the associated masterworks concert on Friday, March 4 will get a primer to the works that will be presented and for those who don’t, tickets will be available to purchase.

Sample of the repertoire will be played and discussed, including:
• Beethoven’s Symphony no. 1, Op 21, in C Major
Dreamtime Ancestors, a New Music for America commission from contemporary composer Christopher Theofanidis, based on Australian Aboriginal creation myths.
Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto no.1, Op. 23, in B-flat minor.

This is a free event. Doors open at 11:45 am to give you time to mingle and take your seats.

Coffee and water provided. Food available for purchase at area restaurants such as Subway (next door) and Rebel Pies (downstairs in the back of Unruly Brewing).
